Women during the times of the ancient Greeks were unable to do many things. They were barely a notch above slaves. They couldn't buy anything, be part of a contract, or own property. The highest form of women was the level of basically a prostitute. However, if you were a Spartan you could own land, buy, and sell.
I think that even though the Greeks were considered so culturally elite they were so developed in terms of their architecture and their form of gods. I also think that they only thought that the goddess women should be the higher form instead of having civilians be high forms because they were stronger in all ways .
I think that women were depicted in art as pretty but a lot less than they should have been. I think that they showed their bad sides like being a prostitute as opposed to helping someone.
