Purdue News!!!!

This article is so correct in many ways. It talks about how many of the fairy tales that parents read to their children at night are one of the reasons children have clouded perspectives on beauty. The article "94% of the Grimm fairy tales acknowledge physical appearance" which is very surprising yet sounds true. I remember that when I was a small child being like a princess was what everyone wanted to be like. All of the costumes for girls for Halloween and Purim were princesses. One of the good points that were made was that Shrek should be rewarded because it breaks the regular format of the female being gorgeous. I agree completely because Shrek is a good example that you don't have to look pretty to be loved!!!! I also think that the quote that says "This trend (beautiful princesses) reinforces the message to children that physical attractiveness is an important asset would should achieve and maintain" is what happens in real life but that should be abolished. I think that because people don't have to be beautiful to be important!!!
